Steps
- Go to More → Expenses and tap Add expense.
- Enter the Amount, who it was Paid to, and the Date. Batchwell remembers the category for payees you’ve used before.
- Tap a category, or choose one from the Category list.
- If it’s for one place you sell, or one market, choose it under For selling on or For a market. Otherwise it’s shared by the whole business.
- Lower the Business share (%) for things you also use at home, like your phone.
- Tap Snap the receipt, then Save expense.
Log a drive
Tap Add a drive. Enter From, To, Miles one way, the date and why. Leave Round trip ticked if you drove back. Batchwell works out the amount at the IRS standard rate. Tap Save drive. Parking and tolls go in as their own expense.
Repeating expenses
Tap Repeating for subscriptions and anything on a schedule. Pick a preset, or enter who and how much, the category, Every week, month or year, and the Next charge. Tap Add. Each one adds itself on its date. Tap Pause to stop one.
Good to know
- Booth fees come from your markets, so don’t add them here as well.
- Missing a receipt counts the expenses without one. Tap Show them, open one and tap Add receipt.
- Expenses save on your phone without signal and send when you’re back. A receipt photo needs a connection; add it later if it doesn’t upload.
- To delete an expense, open it and tap Delete, then tap again.
Batchwell sorts and totals; it doesn’t file. This isn’t tax advice. Ask your tax preparer what you can deduct.
