Steps
- Go to More → Sales channels. Only owners and admins can connect a store.
- On the Shopify card, type your store’s address, ending in .myshopify.com. Find it in Shopify under Settings, Domains.
- Tap Connect Shopify and approve Batchwell in Shopify.
- Back in Batchwell, the last 60 days of orders come in. From then on, each paid order posts as an online sale on its own, and takes finished stock off by lot.
- If a Shopify item doesn’t match a product, the card says so. Tap Match them, then Match and record them. Choose the product (a gift set can be more than one), tap Save match, then Record. Next time it matches by itself.
Older orders from a file
Orders from before you connected can come in from Shopify’s export. In Shopify admin, go to Orders → Export, choose the dates and “CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs”. In Batchwell, open Products → Import Shopify orders, choose the file, check Count orders from, match any new items and tap Record. Orders already recorded are skipped, and so are cancelled, unpaid and fully refunded ones.
Other channels and their fees
Under Add a channel, tap I sell here or Planning to for Faire, Etsy, Direct wholesale, Markets & pop-ups, Square, Amazon Handmade or WooCommerce. Tap Details to set the status, the account, Fees (% of each sale) and notes. For Shopify, tap Add fees and notes. Know your worth and Profit & loss use these fees.
Record a sale by hand
- Open Sell (Products) and tap Record on the product.
- Choose What happened: Online order, Market sale, Wholesale, Faire order, Sample, Giveaway, Damaged / waste, Return (adds back) or Count correction.
- Enter the units, the date, the order, customer or market, and the price if it wasn’t the list price.
- Tap Record. Units come off the oldest lot first, unless you pick one.
Good to know
- Batchwell only reads your Shopify orders and products. It never changes your store.
- Shopify sales count from your first released batch. Cancellations and returns put units back.
- Sync last 60 days checks again. Disconnect stops the sync; sales already recorded stay.
- Live Etsy and Faire order sync aren’t built yet. Record those sales from Products; record Etsy sales as online orders.
- Each brand connects its own store.
