Tags and labels

Tags keep your workroom traceable: scan one and the record opens. Bakers can print customer labels with ingredients and allergens from the batch itself.

Find it More → Tags

Steps

  1. Go to More → Tags, or tap Labels on a batch or Bin tag on a lot.
  2. Choose Batch tags for tubs, trays and boxes, Cure rack for one card per curing batch with its ready date, or Bin tags for ingredient and packaging bins.
  3. Tick the batches or lots to tag. Pick all or Tag all shown ticks a whole group.
  4. Set Copies of each.
  5. Using a part-used sheet? Under Start at label, tap the first empty spot.
  6. Tap Print, or PDF to save a file.

Tags fit 1" × 2⅝" address labels, 30 to a sheet. The QR code opens the batch or lot record.

Cottage food labels

If you chose Cottage food & baked goods, More shows Food labels.

  1. In Settings, add your Name on food labels and Address or cottage food registration number.
  2. Mark each ingredient’s allergens on its material page.
  3. Open Food labels (or Food labels on the batch) and choose the batch.
  4. Enter how many labels you need for each product. Tick Needs refrigeration where it applies.
  5. Tap Print labels (PDF). They fit 2" × 4" labels, 10 to a sheet.

Ingredients, allergens and the lot code come from what went into that batch, so they’re right for that lot. Texas cottage food wording is built in. In other states, check your own label rules.

Good to know

  • More → Scan a tag: point the camera at a tag’s QR code and the record opens on its own.
  • Codes for your handheld printer lists the lot codes to copy into a handheld printer for the lot line on tubes and jars.
  • Cancelled and rejected batches are hidden from the list. Tick the box below the list to show them.
  • Product labels for body care and candles aren’t built yet. For now, Label ingredients on a recipe gives you the ingredient list and net weight to copy into your own design.

Labels follow the rules as Batchwell understands them, but you’re responsible for what’s on your packaging. This isn’t legal advice.
